ANTONINA KAWECKA FOUNDATION

FOUNDING

Antonina Kawecka Foundation (in Polish - Fundacja im. Antoniny Kaweckiej - FIAK)was established in 1999.
After months of trying, Sławomir Pietras, Director of Stanisław Moniuszko Opera House in Poznań, together with Izabela Górska - Krasiel - Dean of Wydział Wokalno-Aktorski of Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, Katarzyna Liszkowska - Literacy director at Opera House in Poznań and Wojciech Kulesza - grandson of the Patron, successfully founded the Foundation on May, 26th in 1999.
The Foundation has a legal form of corporation and resides in the Poznan Opera House.

GOALS

The main goals of the foundation are:
- Save the artistic and pedagogic achievements of Antonina Kawecka,
- Cultivate the memory of the Patron,
- Advocate the popularisation of classical art and vocal lyrics,
- Support the development of polish vocalistics and promote young talents.

ACHIEVEMENTS

The Foundation's most significant achievements to date include:
- celebrating the death anniversaries of the Patron through various actions: i.e. A classroom in the Academy of Music now bears her name,
- The organisation of concerts in memoriam of Antonina Kawecka,
- The publishing of a CD which contains recordings of the Patron's arias,
- Participation in Ave Maria Festival 2000 in Czeladz,
- Celebrating of 210th Death Anniversary of W.A.Mozart at a "Missa pro defuncto" - Holy Mass in Latin language, in which Mozart's Requiem was conducted. (featuring Aga Mikolaj - Soprano of Bayern Opera, graduate of Antonina Kawecka) 2001,
- The organisation of Wolfgango Amadeo Mozart pro memoriam - series of concerts of Mozart music, with Missa pro defuncto, 2002,
- Converting the W.A.Mozart pro memoriam into Poznań Mozart Festiwal in 2003 and organised annually,
- Organisation of magical concert "Nameday of the Year, 20.02.2002" featuring world-class pianist Waldemar Malicki and baritone Wojciech Drabowicz, Opera performance with Fashion show of Sophie de Inez,
- A monthly organisation of "Academy of Polish Song"- series of concerts in Kórnik Castle, with performances from famous artists and young students. More than 40 concerts have already been held.
